Board Chair
Role Summary: The Chair is the principal leader of the association, responsible for ensuring the Board functions effectively, meetings are conducted efficiently, and the Association’s mission is upheld.
Key Responsibilities:
• Preside over all board meetings and the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
• Provide leadership in setting the strategic direction of the Association.
• Serve as the primary spokesperson for the Association in dealings with the community, government, and stakeholders.
• Ensure Board members fulfill their responsibilities and that decisions are implemented.
• Act as a signing officer for the Association as required.
• Facilitate Board development and succession planning.
• Ensure that the B.C. Registry is kept up-to-date on the composistion of the Board of Directors
• Keep the Board moving forward with the set goals.
Helpful Skills (Not Required)
• Leadership and facilitation experience
• Public speaking or community advocacy experience
• Organizational planning and decision-making skills
Time Commitment
• Approximately 6-8 hours per month
• Attend all Board meetings and key events
